The baby mantises have hatched. hatched? I guess hatched. Anyway, it was a windy day so it was hard to get a good shot, plus they're so small! This one is actually upside down on a piece of bamboo.

I got two praying mantis egg cases today. I can't wait until they "hatch"! Our yard has an aphid problem and tons of earwigs. I tried ladybugs, but they wouldn't stay, so I'll try this and see what happens. I hope we get to see the baby mantises! I hung one in the dogwood tree (which was covered in aphids last year) and one in one of our rhododendron bushes (also infested).

Our new puppy! His name is Jackson. We adopted him about 3 weeks ago. He's SUCH a sweetie! He's a 1 year old pit-bull mix, about 44 pounds. He and Tico get along great so far. I think Tico definitely likes having a furry friend around.
